Health, Safety & Environment Policy

Reference to Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 (Act 514).

SAILION SHIPPING SDN BHD is committed to provide a safe environment for our employees and others within its premises and other areas of activity, by minimizing the risk of any potential hazard which could cause personal injury, affect occupational hazard, or cause damage to its properties and maintaining safety of the property of the
Client and its contractors.

Our Statement of general policy is:

  • To ensure that risk to health and safety throughout its undertaking are properly assessed.
  • Protect the health and safety of our employees, customer and the public, as well as protect environment.
  • Monitor and continuously improve quality of our services.
  • Identify hazard, analyze their impact in HSE performance and implement controls to reduce risk, minimizing losses or damage to people, environment, equipment and assets.
  • Comply with applicable legislation and regulations in the location where we operate.
  • Company would be conducting safety training from time-to-time. Employees are to take part in these training programs. This is to ensure employees would be able to perform their duties in the safest possible manner & achieve “ZERO Accident”.
  • Employees must take care of their own safety and others.
  • Employees are to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in yards & operation fields

Drugs & Alcohol Policy

The objective of this drugs and alcohol policy is to help maintain a safe and health work environment. Its cove the use and abuse of drugs and alcoholic beverages.

The use, possession or trafficking in drugs is strictly prohibited. No employee shall be under the influence of drugs or carry such drugs while performing his / her work.

Any employee who found to be incapable of performing his / her work a safe and acceptable manner due to of alcohol or drugs abuse will be subjected to disciplinary action, including immediate termination.

Lion Transport Sdn. Bhd. reserves the right at any time to search any employee and his / her belonging while he / she is working within company facility and transport in enforcing objective of this policy.

No Gift Policy

Sailion Shipping Sdn. Bhd. aim is to achieve the international highest standards of integrity and honesty in the conduct of its business and operations.

Sailion Shipping and the network companies’ staffs (Lion Transport Sdn. Bhd., Lion Logistic Sdn. Bhd., Lion Shipcare Sdn. Bhd. and Lion Impex Sdn. Bhd.) are required to act in the best interests of Sailion Shipping and to avoid from engaging in miss conduct which may affect the best interests of Sailion
Shipping.

Therefore Sailion Shipping and the network companies’ staffs MUST NOT:

  • Accept personal gifts from external parties.
  • Give personal gifts to external parties.

This policy statement is to avoid conflicts of interest in any ongoing or potential business dealings of Sailion Shipping.

All Sailion Shipping staffs are required to know and understand with the provisions of Sailion Shipping Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE) to ensure their conduct in is compliance with CoBE.

Harassment Policy

OBJECTIVE 

SAILION SHIPPING SDN BHD is committed to providing a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and conduct that can be consider harassing, coercive or disruptive, including sexual harassment. Actions, words, jokes or comments based on an individual’s sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any other legally protected characteristic will be tolerated.

All management and non-management employees, as well as members, of SAILION SHIPPING SDN BHD should avoid any behavior or conduct towards any employee which could be interpreted as sexual harassment.

Appropriate management and supervisory personnel shall take prompt, corrective action when they become aware of sexual harassment. Such action may include discipline up to and including termination of the offending employee(s) and/or suspension of the membership of the offending member. In addition, because false accusations regarding sexual harassment can have serious effect on the person(s) accused, any false accusation will likewise result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Employers are responsible for providing a workplace free of sexual harassment and may be held liable by a court for sexual harassment that occurs in workplace. Any employee of SAILION SHIPPING SDN BHD who feels that she/he has been the victim of sexual harassment should notify a member of the House Committee. The complaint will immediately be investigated in a confidential manner to determine
whether it is justified. If the complaint is found to be invalid, all involved parties will notified. If the complaint is found to have merit, corrective action, as described above, will be taken. SAILION SHIPPING SDN. BHD. reserves the right at any time to search any employee and his / her belonging while he / she is working within company facility and transport in enforcing objective of this policy.
